Dear visitors to the Chance 2024 trade fair,
When a trade fair celebrates its 20th anniversary, it is a sign of lasting success. I would like to congratulate the organizers of Chance on this.
It has firmly established itself in Saxony-Anhalt as the largest trade fair for education, jobs and start-ups and attracts a respectable, mostly young audience year after year.
Last year, around 9,000 people visited the fair. It offers companies an excellent platform to present themselves and recruit young talent. For teenagers and young adults who are on the way to shaping their future, it is a welcome orientation aid. Chance has the right advice for every stage of education and every question.
I was very pleased to take on the patronage again this year. This is also because the trade fair is of outstanding interest to the state. Securing skilled workers is one of the most important issues of our time. The shortage of skilled workers in no way means that interested parties will automatically find a training position or a job that meets their needs and wishes. They often do not yet have any precise ideas and are looking for suggestions. There could hardly be a better place for this in Saxony-Anhalt than Chance.
I am sure that the fair will once again attract a great deal of interest from visitors this year. I wish the visitors, exhibitors and organizers every success.

Dear visitors,
dear exhibitors,
Once again this year, numerous important companies from industry, the skilled trades and the service sector as well as institutions and study establishments will be presenting their training opportunities at the Chance trade fair in Halle (Saale). The job fair has long been the place to go in Saxony-Anhalt when looking for training occupations and job prospects. The city of Halle (Saale), in cooperation with HALLE MESSE GmbH, organizes this regionally largest trade fair for skilled workers and thus offers an important platform. On the one hand, young people are faced with a multitude of opportunities for their own professional future - inspiration, information and advice in personal discussions are important. On the other hand, the economy needs committed young people in order to master the challenges of comprehensive change that arise, for example, as a result of digitalization or the shortage of skilled workers. The recruitment of skilled workers in particular has now become an issue for the future.
Also for the city of Halle (Saale) and the companies operating here.
The city of Halle (Saale) is therefore organizing a round table discussion entitled "Come to stay - working and living in Halle (Saale)" with employees of Halle-based companies and Katharina Brederlow as part of the trade fair accompanying programme. The city's Councillor for Education and Social Affairs is also the patron of the Saxony-Anhalt South Skilled Workers Alliance. In this alliance, co-initiated by the city, the partners pool their resources and experience in order to establish targeted and strategic measures to address the need for and development of skilled workers and to meet the demographic challenges in the region. In addition, the city - one of the largest employers and trainers in the region with over 2,800 employees in various departments and service centers - will be presenting itself as an attractive employer in times of change at its own stand at Chance. Halle (Saale) stands for transformation and change like hardly any other city in Central Germany.
Sustainable mobility, digitalization, cultural and social diversity, education and innovation, healthcare, sustainable consumption, economic diversification, extensive community participation as well as climate protection and adaptation are challenges and topics that are currently the particular focus of urban policy, which we will continue to address intensively in the future. The Future Center for German Unity and European Transformation, which the federal government will build on Riebeckplatz by 2028, is almost symbolic of this dynamic change. This project will have a significant impact on Halle's development. It will move our city a little closer to the center of Europe and strengthen its international visibility.
I wish you many good impressions and inspiration during your visit to Chance and the city of Halle (Saale).
Yours sincerely
Egbert Geier

Dear visitors,
The Chance trade fair serves as a showcase for education and jobs for people in the region. It offers a wide range of information on apprenticeships, job vacancies, further vocational training and self-employment. It vividly conveys how the cooperation of regional players, e.g. from schools, business and politics, can be positively shaped.
The Chance trade fair is also a proven platform for many regional companies to attract the attention of young people. This is because they have recognized that the battle for the best minds has long been in full swing. Face-to-face discussions make it easier for all sides to ask questions and avoid misunderstandings.
The Chamber of Industry and Commerce will be on hand with its trainees and training and further education advisors during the trade fair to answer questions on the subject of training and further education. The project of the IHK trainees is entirely in line with this year's training campaign motto "Jetzt #könnenlernen".
Our IHK trainees will be conducting a survey on the topic of training and supervising the IHK wheel of fortune. The young people will be able to use this once they have completed the survey.
We will also be promoting the nationwide apprenticeship and internship search platform "Hallo Beruf" run by the chambers of commerce.
Do you see an opportunity in self-employment and already have your sights firmly set on it? Excellent! The Halle-Saalekreis start-up network offers you the support you need to get there at the trade fair. It will show you that you can start your own business in small steps: For example, by starting a business as a "sideline".
The members of the Halle-Saalekreis start-up network offer you industry-oriented advice with important tips - for example on business ideas and business planning, public funding and tailor-made financing offers.
Dear visitors, a lot of interesting information awaits you at the Chance 2024 trade fair, so take your chance. I wish you, the exhibitors and the trade fair every success!

President of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts Halle (Saale)
In February 2024, young people from Halle and the surrounding area are invited to attend Chance 2024 - the education, job and start-up fair - to find out about a promising professional future, make contacts and perhaps even meet their future trainer. Companies, schools of all qualification levels and, of course, the skilled crafts sector and its chamber will be presenting themselves at the Halle exhibition grounds to provide young people and their guidance.
A trade fair like this is extremely important for companies in the skilled trades sector, as there is a shortage of skilled workers in all areas of the economy. Our companies know that the best young talent comes from within their own ranks.
The skilled trades offer young people the best career opportunities and a wide range of possibilities to start and then follow an interesting and fulfilling path in life in over one hundred training occupations. But, as the saying goes, even the longest path requires the first step to be taken alone. You may already be able to take this step at the Chance Fair 2024. I therefore invite all young people to visit our Chamber of Skilled Crafts stand to find out what opportunities there are for a future in the skilled trades.
Potential company founders should also take advantage of Chance 2024 to find out about support options, prerequisites and requirements for setting up a business or company succession. Specialist advisors from the Chamber are available to you as contacts for the skilled trades sector.
I look forward to seeing you there.

Dear visitors,
Welcome to the Chance 2024 trade fair in Halle!
This Chance trade fair is a wonderful opportunity to facilitate encounters between employers, job seekers and young people, to exchange knowledge and open up new perspectives.
The working world of tomorrow will be characterized by constant change and the Chance trade fair is the ideal place to prepare for these changes.
Take advantage of the wide range of offers, make contacts and be inspired to realize your professional goals.
Once again this year, the Saxony-Anhalt South Employment Agency will be there as an exhibitor with its own information stand. Just as the name of the fair suggests, there are numerous opportunities for companies and interested parties in the region.
Securing skilled workers remains a challenge on the labor market that must be overcome. Every single employer feels the dynamics of the labor market and must face and adapt to these changes. It will therefore continue to be necessary in the future to inform school pupils about career opportunities in good time and to inspire potential junior staff for their own company. At the Chance trade fair, visitors and exhibitors can take the opportunity to talk to each other directly and make contacts. The companies can present themselves as attractive employers or training companies.
Many thanks to all exhibitors, organizers and supporters who make this event a success. I wish everyone involved an inspiring exchange, new insights and, above all, lots of interesting discussions at the Chance 2024 trade fair in Halle.
